How It Works!
Roadway Safety Driving Education Program (formerly 3-Hour Alcohol and Drug):
- This course is for individuals who have a foreign driver's license and want to obtain a Maryland driver's license.
- No waiting for a mailed paper certificate! Once your course is completed, we will electronically submit your completion to the Maryland MVA using your Maryland ID number - click here for more information. If you do not have an Maryland ID number, we will make a request to the MVA for you.
Instructions - How to Complete this Online Program and take the Final Test:
Please read the following instructions COMPLETELY before beginning your course.
- To begin, return to our home page and click the menu link or the button that says, "Sign Up".
- You may complete the online program at your own pace (all in one day or return as many times as you choose).
- This online classroom consists of six sessions, each followed by a short review, and once you complete the review at the end of the sixth session, you will have finished the online classroom requirements.
- The online classroom is free, but to receive course credit you must pass a short final test (about 10 to 15 minutes), taken either virtually from home or in person at one of our testing locations, with a fee required when you pass.
- There are NO re-test fees. You only pay if you pass (Don't worry, you will pass - the test is not difficult!)
Virtual Testing:
- We are now doing virtual testing so everything is completed from the comfort of your home.
- We use Zoom online video conferencing to do the virtual testing - it is easy (the Zoom app downloads to your device in seconds) and anybody can do it! All you need is a device with a webcam (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone) to do the virtual testing.
- You can access our virtual testing schedule by clicking the "Test Areas" link in our menu section above.
- Please schedule your appointment only AFTER you have completed the online course!
- After you schedule your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to attend your online video conference appointment (using Zoom).
- You will be required to email us a copy of your photo identification BEFORE your scheduled online video conference - please follow the instructions in the confirmation email.
